The thousand faces of the moon

In few territories are there so many fierce battles between reality and fantasy like the Moon. Lunatics, witches, and werewolves coexist in our imaginations alongside lunar rocks, calendars, tides, and the technological feats that led a dozen privileged people to see their footprints eternalized in the dust of its surface. Our satellite fascinates us because, in reality, it reflects ourselves: we can explain the gravity that binds us to it, but we still don’t fully understand the fear and emotion it can arouse in us, and both forces are equally powerful. Ultimately, the Moon sets the rhythm of life on Earth, stabilizes its axis of rotation, and orders the ticking of the biological clock.

Therefore, there is nothing more inaccurate than to say we are returning to the Moon. Because it has always been here, intertwined with our history, our dreams, and our achievements.
